We Dance Together #4

    A new series of We Dance Together kicks off on November 18th at Space for Dance Art!

    Under the guidance of Diego Oliveira, you’ll get to know his movement practices over eight weeks! This dance workshop, consisting of eight lessons, is for dance enthusiasts, young and old, with or without dance experience. 

    Learn House Dance foundations, dance sequences, and develop your improvisational skills in We Dance Together #4! In this eight-week workshop at Space for Dance Art, you will be zooming in with Diego Oliveira into the essence of house dancing as a club style and social dance. How can we use music to connect to the heart, practice self-acceptance and become more confident dancing with each other? Every class is a chance to surrender and learn more about this dance style, which is a mix of various cultures that met in the club. 

    You will dance alone or in couples, dance together and interact as a group. For Diego, finding your groove and expanding your capacity to feel and express is an important element. Through this workshop Diego creates space for you and others to feel at home.  

    About the movement practice
    Diego created his own teaching method in movement called 'Organic Movement Flow’, in which he explores physical and mental practices and wide range of movement and improvisational techniques. The method has a focus on embodying dance as ameditative-spiritual practice, or as forms of connecting with instinct and intuition.

    We Dance Together is suitable for all dance enthusiasts aged 15 and up (no upper limit!).

    Diego Oliveira is a movement researcher, choreographer and dance teacher from Parana, Brazil, residing in Amsterdam since 2011. Within 15 years of experience, he is involved in teaching street styles, creating shows, organizing events and advising other creators.

    Diego is a self-taught street dancer and movement artist with keen interest in the spiritual and educational aspects of art. Deeply committed to his roots and ancestry, he uses dance as a powerful tool to heal,reclaim identity and increase self-awareness.
